Hello my name is Felicia and I am a traditional graduate student for the School of Teacher Eduacation and Leadership. I am currently studying Special Education General Curriculum. I am a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Delta Pi. I have one year left before I graduate, and I feel very privileged to be a part of this experience. I can't believe this is finally happening this is very exciting. I have wanted to go to the Mother land since I was in high school. This is my first time out of the country and it won't be my last. I will do my best to keep you all informed the best way I can. I hope you all enjoy our post.

Nina Ghafori

Moni (hello) everyone I'm Nina Ghafori and I'll be a junior this upcoming fall! Im so excited to be traveling to Malawi with some great students and faculty in less than 12 hours now! I'm studying elementary education! I'm very excited to put my knowledge and experiences with children that I have developed over the years here in America, to use in Africa! Hey there! My name is Alyson Gokey, I am a senior at Radford University, and am studying Special Education with a concentration in science. I am so excited to have the opportunity to study abroad in Malawi this summer! I am hoping to take everything I learn from the students and teachers in Malawi and bring them back into my classroom to help me better prepare myself to be a future educator. Tabitha Nelson

Hello everyone! My name is Tabitha Nelson, I will be a senior at Radford, and am studying early childhood/early childhood special education. I am extremely excited to study abroad in Malawi and to experience a different part of the world. While in Africa I am hoping to learn from the students and teachers and better prepare myself to be a future educator in America. I am excited to share this experience with everyone while we are away, and even more once we return.

Hi there! My name is Valerie, and I am apart of this amazing group that will be traveling to Malawi very soon! I am a 4th year student at Radford University studying middle school education, and I will be graduating in May of 2018. I am really looking forward to this trip so that I can learn more about how different countries approach education! I am also excited to be working and ineracting with the students in the schools. This is going to be a trip filled with many exciting moments. I will be coming back with a whole new perspective of the world, and I can't wait to get started! Malawi here we come!!

Kim Rygas

Greetings! 

My name is Kim Rygas and I am currently a practicing teacher and adjunct instructor at RU.  I am a graduate of RU times three, receiving degrees in Early Childhood/Special Education, Master's of Education, and Master's in Educational Leadership.  I have taught third grade for seven years, first grade for two years, and next year I think I'll give second grade a shot!  I teach at the BEST school in Blacksburg, VA and I can't wait to share this journey with my GLE colleagues and little lizard learners.  I'm excited to embark upon this journey to Malawi with future teachers.  There is no doubt that we are in for a life changing experience together!
